Cairo – Mubasher: Deficit in Egypt’s state budget saw an increase by 20.4% in the first seven months of the fiscal year 2015/2016, the Finance Ministry said on Wednesday.
The country’s deficit amounted to EGP 191.6 billion, or 6.8% of GDP, during the seven-month period, compared with EGP 159.1 billion, or 6.5% of GDP, in the same period a year earlier.
Expenses rose by 20.2% to EGP 405.2 billion, from EGP 337.1 billion, while revenues increased by 19.8% to EGP 223.6 billion.
