Cairo-Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) will auction EGP 7.75 billion in treasury bills on 21 February to fund budget deficit.
The EGP 7.75 billion will be offered through two auctions: a 91-day-auction at a value of EGP3 billion and a 273-day-auction at a value EGP 4.75 billion.
The country's budget deficit widened to EGP 138.5 billion, or 4.9% of gross domestic product (GDP) during July – November 2015/16, against EGP 107.9 billion or 4.4% of GDP for the similar period of the previous year.
