Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) will issue treasury bills worth EGP8.5 billion in a public auction today, according to CBE website.
The EGP 8.5 billion will be offered through two auctions: a 91-day auction at a value of EGP3.75 billion and a 273-auction at a value of EGP4.75 billion.
The country’s budget deficit widened to EGP177 billion, or 5.9% of the gross domestic product (GDP) in the first half of the current fiscal year, compared to EGP132 billion, or 6.7% of GDP for the year-ago period, data by Ministry of Finance indicated.
