Cairo-Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said Thursday it would auction EGP 9 billion in treasury bills.
The EGP 9 billion will be offered through two auctions: a 182-day auction at a value of EGP 4.25 billion and a 364-day auction at a value EGP 4.75 billion.
The country's budget deficit widened to EGP 177 billion, or 5.9% of gross domestic product (GDP) within 6 months of the fiscal year 2015/16, against EGP 132 billion or 6.7% of GDP for the similar period of the previous year.
