Egypt’s c.bank to auction EGP 3bn in T-bonds Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt will issue treasury bonds at a total value of EGP3 billion for a term of 5 years on Monday.

The bank of Egypt released this week EGP19 billion in treasury bills on last Thursday and Sunday as well as EGP3 billion in treasury bonds.

The country's budget deficit widened to EGP 177 billion, or 5.9% of GDP, during the first half of 2015/16, compared with EGP132 billion or 6.7% of GDP for the year-ago period. 

Earlier, the Ministry of Finance said the total treasury bills and bonds to be issued by Egypt’s central bank during the fourth quarter of 2015/2016 amount to EGP 291.25 billion, up 17% year-over-year from EGP249 billion.
