Egypt’s car tax revenues hit EGP 4.6bn in 9M

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s revenues from taxes and charges levied on vehicles skyrocketed by 94% during the first nine months of fiscal year 2018/2019, according to data released by the ministry of finance.

Revenues from taxes and charges on cars registered EGP 4.6 billion from July 2018 to last March, compared to EGP 2.37 billion in the year-ago period.

Egypt expects to collect EGP 5.65 billion of revenues from taxes and charges on cars during the current fiscal year.

The most populous Arab nation’s total revenues amounted to EGP 598.68 billion in the nine-month period ended 31 March, including tax revenues of EGP 468.4 billion.
