Egypt’s coronavirus cases rise to 196

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced that 30 new cases tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), taking the tally to 196.

The new cases are all Egyptians who had contact with previously-detected cases, spokesman of the health ministry Khaled Megahed said in a statement late on Tuesday.

In addition, two new deaths were reported, including a 78-year-old Italian and a 70-year-old Egyptian citizen, bringing the death toll to six, he added.

A total of 26 patients recovered and left the quarantine hospital out of total 34 cases who were retested negative. The remaining negative cases are in stable condition and being monitored in the quarantine hospitals.
