Egypt’s cotton exports up 20% in 9M

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s cotton exports rose 20% since the beginning of the exportation season of 2017/2018 in September, head of the Alexandria Cotton Exporters Association Nabil Al-Santaricy said.

Total exports hit 20,000 tonnes of cotton at an approximate value of $60 million, Al-Santaricy added.

On 20 September 2016, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) posted that cotton exports dropped by 16.5% during the third quarter of the planting season 2015/2016.

The CAPMAS had previously announced the country’s cotton exports surge 63.9% during the first quarter of planting season 2016/2016.
