Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt's current account deficit soared in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2015/16, as it reached $4 billion compared with $1.6 billion in the same quarter a year earlier, said Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
The country's balance of payment saw a deficit of $3.7 billion in Q1-FY15/16, compared with $410 million a year earlier.
The jump in current account deficit came as result of registering balance of trade deficit of $10 billion in the three-month period, said CBE.
