Egypt's current cooperation portfolio stands at $25bn – El-Mashat

Cairo – Mubasher: The current cooperation portfolio in Egypt reaches about $25 billion, contributing to a large number of development projects in several governorates, Minister of International Cooperation Rania El-Mashat said.

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed challenges for all countries in the world; however, the negative repercussions have prompted the world to cooperate and explore common goals, El-Mashat said in an interview with CNN anchor and correspondent, Eleni Giokos, on the sidelines of Egypt's International Cooperation Forum (Egypt ICF), organised by the Ministry of International Cooperation, on Wednesday.

The Egyptian government aims to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) through its projects and the Ministry of International Cooperation has developed a map to match development funds with the UN SDGs, the minister added.

Egypt ICF kicked off on Wednesday under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, with the participation of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Rania El-Mashat as well as several ministers.

The event hosts government representatives from Africa, Europe, and Latin America as well as heads of international and regional financial institutions and representatives of the private sector and civil society.
