Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s customs revenue for the first half of 2015/16 dropped 1.4% year-over-year to EGP 11.077 billion from EGP 11.237 billion, Magdy Abdel Aziz, head of Egypt’s customs authority, exclusively told Mubasher.
This drop is mainly ascribed to a reduction in imports during the first six months by 13% to $63.3 billion from $41.6 billion for last year, Magdy said.
The targeted tax revenue for the current fiscal year grew 24% year-over-year to EGP 27 billion from EGP 20.5 billion, he added.
