Egypt’s domestic liquidity up 18.3% in August – CBE

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s domestic liquidity rose 18.3% to around EGP 2.15 trillion by end of August 2016, according to the central bank’s monthly bulletin.

Egypt’s domestic liquidity stood at EGP 1.81 trillion by the end of August 2015.

The increase in domestic liquidity was reflected in the growth of the money supply as it reached EGP 594 billion, while the quasi-money grew to EGP 1.55 trillion.

The domestic credit recorded EGP 2.56 trillion by end of August 2016, compared with EGP 2.06 trillion a year earlier.
