Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s economy grew 5.6% in the third quarter of fiscal year 2018/2019, compared to 5.4% in the year-ago period, the country’s planning minister, Hala El-Saeed, said.
The most populous Arab nation plans to achieve economic growth of 5.8% in Q4 of FY18/19, El-Saeed added in a statement on Wednesday.
During the first half of FY18/19, investments and net exports made up 85% of the country’s economic growth from 71% in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Telecommunications sector grew by 15% during Q3 of FY18/19, followed by the exploration and construction sectors with 12.4% and 7.9%, respectively, while Suez Canal posted an increase of 6.9%.
