Egypt’s economy growth hits 5.3% Q2

Cairo – Mubasher: The Planning Ministry on Monday stated that the national economy’s growth rate reached 5.3% in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2017/2018, compared to 2.9% in Q1-13/14.

Egypt is planning to achieve a 7% growth by 2021, the ministry added.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast that the North African nation's economy will grow 4.8% in FY17/18, to bring the rate up to 6% in the medium-term.
