Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s economic growth rose to 5.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of fiscal year 2017/2018 from 3.8%, planning minister Hala El-Said said at a press conference at the Cabinet headquarter.
The economic growth of the North African nation stood at 5.2% in Q1-17/18, the minister highlighted, adding that exports increased by 10.9% in the first half of the current fiscal year.
The International Monetary Fund previously forecast Egypt’s economic growth to reach 4.8% in FY17/18 to rise to 6% in the medium term.
