Cairo – Mubasher: Investments in Egypt’s electricity sector reached EGP 515 billion now, electricity minister Mohamed Shaker said.
The ministry executed substation projects at a cost of EGP 54.4 billion, while electricity distribution projects valued at EGP 27 billion, Shaker added during the inauguration of a number of national electricity projects with the attendance of the president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority (ACA) Mohamed Irfan previously said that the government had added new power plants with a combined capacity of 25,000 megawatts to the national electricity grid during the period starting June 2014 to June 2018.
