Cairo – Mubasher: The electricity ministry has received four offers from Arab and international firms to build solar power plants in the North African country with $400 million (EGP 7.05 billion) in investment, Alborsa News reported, quoting sources at the ministry.
The ministry has ended working through the feed-in tariff scheme, but it is ready to collaborate with investors via tenders or offers with low costs and high technical efficiency, sources noted.
A committee from the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Co (EETC) will technically and financially assess the offers to send the final report for the ministry, sources highlighted.
The contenders have presented offers to sell generated electricity at 3.8 cents, 3.5 cents, 3.3 cents, and 3.1 cents per kilowatt/hour, sources mentioned.
