Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s exports of chemicals and fertilisers rose 32% year-on-year in the period from January to November 2017, according to the Egyptian Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council (CEC).
Chemicals and fertilisers’ exports amounted to $3.9 billion in the 11-month period, up from $2.991 billion in the prior-year period, the council highlighted.
The chemicals and fertilisers sector made up 19% of Egypt’s total non-petroleum exports in the Jan-Nov 2017 period, the CEC’s chairman Khaled Abou El Makarem told MENA.
Egypt's exports of coal, detergents, non-organic chemicals, and organic chemicals stood at $303.8 million, $299.2 million, $320.97 million, and $259.47 million respectively, Abou El Makarem added.
