Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s exports increased by 4.1% year-on-year (YoY) to $30.5 billion during 2019 from $29.3 billion a year earlier, according to data by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The country’s non-oil exports amounted to $25.5 billion last year, up by 3.9% from $24.6 billion in 2018, the CAPMAS said in a statement on Wednesday.
In addition, the oil and electricity exports also grew by 5.3% YoY to $5 billion in 2019, compared to $4.7 billion.
Fuel exports grew to $7.45 billion in 2019 from $6.67 billion in 2018, while exports of ready-made garments increased to $1.7 billion last year from $1.6 billion a year earlier.
The US topped Egypt’s importers with a value of $2.2 billion, up by 28.1% YoY from $28.1 billion.
The UAE came in the second position with $2.1 billion, followed by Turkey with $1.7 billion and Saudi Arabia with $1.7 billion.
