Cairo – Mubasher: The value of trade exchange between Egypt and members of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) grew 15.4% year-on-year in 2018.
Total Egyptian exports to the CEN-SAD went up to $3.14 billion last year, compared to $2.72 billion in 2017, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.
Libya topped importers from Egypt in the region in 2018, with total imports of $635.9 million, followed by Morocco and Sudan whose imports from Egypt reached $501.6 million and $399.3 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Egyptian imports from the CEN-SAD amounted to $1.09 billion in 2018, from $1.06 billion in 2017.
The North African country’s imports from Kenya, Sudan, Morocco, and Tunisia hit $287.3 million, 207.5 million, $165.5 million, and $140.1 million, respectively.
