Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s ministry of finance has launched a new portal on its website to facilitate communication with citizens and receive their complaints and suggestions concerning electronic government payments.
This step came as part of the ministry’s efforts to achieve financial inclusion in line with the state’s digital transformation plan under Egypt vision 2030, according to a statement on Tuesday.
Government bodies have started to collect administrative charges of 5% with a maximum amount of EGP 7,000 as of 16 June for those willing to make cash government payments despite the availability of e-payment methods.
All state-run entities provide cashless payment methods without any additional costs.
E-payment system aims to save about 25% of costs of currency issuance and around 50% of service time.
