Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s minister of finance Mohamed Maait announced that a standing joint committee will be formed at cargoes and parcels inspection and control areas at seaports, airports and dry ports.
The committee will be assigned with establishing a specific mechanism and timetable for examining inbound and outbound products, for their category, origin, value and how they meet the established standards.
Exported and imported goods will be subject for customs clearance process, which will take at most three days from the date of application.
This, in turn, will reduce the process time and costs, Maait said.
The new committee will include a representative or more from the Egyptian Customs Authority, the General Organization of Export and Import Control (GOEIC), and the Food Safety Authority and other entities.
