Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s exports of gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) valued at around $1.2 billion in fiscal year 2018/2019, according to the Egyptian Cabinet’s annual report for FY18/19.
The North African state has exported nearly 226 billion cubic feet of gas and LNG during the period from July 2019 to June 2019, rising 18% from the estimated target, the report highlighted.
The report stressed that Egypt has become gas self-sufficient after receiving the last LNG shipment in September 2018.
The domestic demand for gas has been covered across various sectors in the country after providing 2,178 billion cubic feet, the report noted, pointing out that the surplus is being exported.
