Egypt’s gas output rises 1.6 bcf in 2017 - Minister

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s natural gas production grew by 1.6 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) to 5.5 bcf in 2017, petroleum minister Tarek El-Molla said in a press conference on Sunday.

The minister ascribed the increase in gas output to the newly discovered fields of Noras, Atoll, Northern Alexandria, and Zohr, according to Reuters.

On 1 December 2017, El-Molla announced that pumping natural gas of the giant Zohr field located in the Mediterranean Sea into Port Said treatment plant has begun with an initial production capacity of 350 million cubic feet per day (mcfd).
