Egypt’s gas output rises 18% in September – CAPMAS

Cairo – Mubasher: Natural gas production surged 18% year-on-year to 3.2 million tonnes in September 2017, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).  

The domestic natural gas consumption rose to 3.7 million tonnes in September 2017 from 3.4 million tonnes in the year-ago period, (CAPMAS) revealed.

Oil and natural gas output grew to 5.9 million tonnes in September 2017, compared to 5.5 million tonnes in the comparative period last year, CAPMAS added.

On the other hand, CAPMAS stated that oil and natural gas consumption dropped to 6.92 million tonnes in September 2017 versus 6.93 million tonnes in the same period a year earlier. 

Egypt expected earlier to increase natural gas production to 6.2 billion cubic feet per day by the end of the fiscal year 2017/2018.
