Egypt’s gov’t to pay EGP 1bn for wheat dues

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail,  said Monday that about EGP 1 billion is being provided for wheat dues payment for the current harvest season.

The ministry of agriculture and land reclamation said Wednesday that it purchased about 602,200 tonnes of wheat since the beginning of the harvest season of 2016.

Earlier in March, the cabinet agreed to buy wheat at EGP 420 per ardeb (150 kg) in the current season, the same price of the previous season.
