Egypt’s higher education ministry to lure EGP 35bn investments

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education is seeking to attract EGP 35 billion investments to establish private and public universities, Alborsa News reported, citing higher education minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.

These universities are planned to be built in the governorates of Red Sea, Luxor, Mersa Matruh, and New Valley, Abdel Ghaffar highlighted.

“The Egyptian universities have 3 million students in the current academic year, and the numbers are expected to increase to 4.2 million students by 2030,” he continued.

The minister also indicated that about 80% of higher education students go to public universities, while only 20% are enrolled in private peers.
