Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s holdings of US Treasuries rose by 3.9% or $84 million, amounting to $2.235 billion in June, compared to $2.151 billion in the same month a year earlier, data by the US Department of the Treasury showed.
Month-on-month, the country’s investments in US bonds remained the same as in May.
Saudi Arabia led Arab countries in terms of investments in US debt instruments with $124.9 billion, followed by Kuwait with $44.9 billion and Iraq with $31.6 billion.
Globally, Japan’s holdings of US Treasuries came in the first position with $1.26 trillion, followed by China and the UK with $1.07 trillion and $445.6 billion, respectively
