Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s holdings of US Treasuries increased to $2.164 billion in August, hitting its highest level since October 2018, compared to $2.145 billion in July, data by the US Department of the Treasury showed.
Year-on-year, the most populous Arab nation’s holdings of US debt instruments grew by 2.3% from $2.114 billion in August 2018.
Since the beginning of 2019, Egypt has raised its investments in US Treasuries by $62 million from $ 2.102 billion at the end of 2018.
It is noteworthy the North African nation’s foreign reserves amounted to $45.117 billion at the end of September, compared to $44.969 billion in August.
