Egypt’s housing ministry pumps EGP 130m investments in 2019

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Ministry of Housing has injected investments worth EGP 130 billion in 2019, deputy housing minister Khaled Abbas said.

These investments covered housing, facilities, new cities, and slum development sectors, Abbas added during the preparatory conference for ‘The Big 5 Construct Egypt’ exhibition.

Total investments injected by the housing ministry and the private sector to the construction and real estate sector exceeded EGP 200 billion, he revealed.

During fiscal year 2018/2019, the construction sector contributed 18% to the growth of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), with expectations to rise to 20% in FY19/20, the top official noted.
