Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian industrial exports increased by 2.3% in February 2016, a Sunday statement from the Ministry of Industry & Foreign Trade indicated.
Exports stood at $1.52 billion, up from $1.48 billion registered in the year-ago period, the trade minister said.
This upturn was led by the building materials sector with $275 million, followed by the agricultural sector as well as chemical & fertilizers exports with $235 million and $225 million respectively.
The food industries sector came fourth with $214 million, followed by engineering industries, handicrafts, and ready-made garments with $180 million, $105 million, and $93 million in a row.
The minister attributed this progress to the ministry’s efforts in mitigating export losses and in promoting Egyptian products abroad.
