Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s industrial production, excluding crude oil, gas, and petroleum products, rose 17.3% year-on-year in 2016.
The value of annual industrial production amounted to EGP 414.7 billion in 2016, versus EGP 353.5 billion in 2015, according to a statement by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
Food industries, which contributed 15.5% of total industrial production, valued at EGP 92.6 billion in 2016, 8.5% up from EGP 85.3 billion in 2015, the CAPMAS added.
Moreover, chemical materials and products industry rose by 22.1% year-on-year in 2016, recording EGP 42.9 billion, versus EGP 35.1 billion.
