Egypt's inflation drops by 0.2% in November 2025

Egypt Today: Egypt’s monthly inflation rate decreased by 0.2 percent in November 2025, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) standing at 263.8 points, down from 264.3 points in October 2025.

The annual inflation rate also showed a slight drop, recorded at 10.0 percent, compared to 10.1 percent in October 2025.

Several factors contributed to the monthly decrease in inflation, including a significant drop in the prices of vegetables, which decreased by 15.8 percent.

Grains and bread prices fell by 0.2 percent, while the prices of meat and poultry decreased by 1.5 percent, and fish and seafood dropped by 0.8 percent. Dairy products, cheese, and eggs saw a decline of 1.2 percent, and personal goods prices fell by 0.4 percent.

Despite these declines, certain categories experienced price increases. Oils and fats rose by 0.3 percent, as did coffee, tea, and cocoa. Mineral water, soft drinks, and natural juices increased by 0.4 percent, and tobacco prices went up by 0.3 percent.

Fabrics saw a 0.6 percent rise, while ready-made clothing surged by 1.2 percent. Cleaning, maintenance, and clothing rental services increased by 1.4 percent.

Housing-related expenses saw notable increases. Actual housing rent rose by 2.1 percent, and imputed housing rent increased by 2.0 percent.

Housing maintenance and repairs went up by 0.9 percent, and water and other housing-related services saw a 0.6 percent rise.

Electricity, gas, and other fuel materials increased by 3.9 percent, and furniture, furnishings, carpets, and floor coverings rose by 0.6 percent.

Household textiles increased by 1.3 percent, and glassware, tableware, and household items rose by 0.9 percent. Goods and services for home maintenance saw an increase of 1.4 percent.

In terms of services and transportation-related expenses, outpatient clinic services increased by 1.1 percent, and hospital services rose by 2.0 percent.

Vehicle purchases saw a 2.1 percent increase, while private transport expenses surged by 6.4 percent.

Transport services also went up by 8.3 percent. The cost of ready-made meals rose by 1.3 percent, hotel services increased by 1.6 percent, and personal care services saw a rise of 1.4 percent.
