Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s annual inflation rate fell to 22.3% year-on-year in December 2017, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said in a statement on Wednesday.
The consumer price index (CPI) inched down by 0.2% month-on-month, the lowest record since November 2015, to 266.8 points in December 2017, the CAPMAS highlighted.
The prices of meat and poultry, vegetables, fishes, fruits, and edible oils slipped 1.6%, 0.5%, 1.1%, 2.8%, and 0.3%, respectively.
Given that Egypt’s inflation rate surged to 26.7% year-on-year in November 2017.
