Egypt's inflation hits 14.6% in September – CAPMAS

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s consumer price index (CPI), which covers urban consumer only, annually increased to 14.6% during September 2016, said the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Monday.

On a monthly basis, the CPI added 1.3%, or 197.4 points in September as compared to August's figures.

The government expected inflation rate to decline 7-8% by the fiscal year of 2018/19.

Earlier, the International Monetary Fund said Egypt's inflation will likely soar to 18% next year.
