Cairo – Mubasher: The Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) on Wednesday has maintained its forecast for Egypt’s inflation rate at 13.5% this year.
The North African nation’s inflation rate is likely to ease to 12% in 2020, the AMF added in a report.
Earlier this day, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) posted that the consumer price index (CPI) in Egypt edged up 0.9% month-on-month in March, recording 307 points.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast Egypt’s annual inflation rate to reach 14.5% in 2019 and to ease to 12.3% in 2020.
