Egypt’s inflation to drop to 26.5% in Q2-17/18 - Pharos

Cairo – Mubasher: Pharos Research on Monday said that it expected Egypt's inflation to decline to 26.5% in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2017/18 from 32.1% in Q1.

Inflation is forecast to go down to 14.5% in Q2-18/19, according to Pharos's report.

Egypt's annual urban consumer price inflation recorded 26.7% year-on-year in November 2017, from 31.8% the previous month, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) data showed.

Core inflation dropped to 25.54% from 30.53%, according to CAPMAS data.

Inflation has surged since the currency float last November as well as energy subsidy cuts.
