Egypt's irrigation ministry inks remote groundwater monitoring protocol with New Valley

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of water resources and irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aty has signed a protocol of cooperation with the governor of New Valley Mohamed El-Zamlot to install remote monitoring and control systems of groundwater wells, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

This move is in line with the country’s sustainable development plan which aims to use water resources efficiently using state-of-the-art technologies.

The protocol aims to establish and implement remote monitoring and control systems of shallow and deep groundwater wells through sensors in a bid to use water resources efficiently and avoid unnecessary waste.
