Cairo – Mubasher: The value of issued banknotes in Egypt declined 1.6% month-on-month in July 2017, according to the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) monthly bulletin.
Issued banknotes retreated by EGP 7 billion to EGP 445.8 billion in July, versus EGP 453.08 billion in June, according to the CBE’s data.
The volume of issued 200-pound, 100-pound, and 50-pound notes reached EGP 245.8 billion, EGP 156.8 billion, and EGP 27.5 billion in July, respectively.
The CBE reported that local liquidity rose by EGP 20.5 billion month-on-month in July 2017.
