Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian pound-denominated deposits at national banks increased by nearly EGP 20 billion on a monthly basis in April to EGP 2.557 trillion from EGP 2.532 trillion, according to official data by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Year-on-year, deposits rose by 13.04% at the end of April, compared to EGP 2.262 trillion in the same month of 2018, data showed.
Moreover, the country’s foreign reserves stood at $44.218 billion at the end of April, down from $44.112 billion in March.
