Egypt’s local liquidity rises to record high in April

Cairo – Mubasher: Local liquidity in Egypt continued its upward trend, rising by 1.5% or EGP 73 billion month-on-month (MoM) during April.

Egypt’s domestic liquidity amounted to EGP 4.34 trillion in April, hitting a record high, compared to EGP 4.276 trillion a month earlier, according to data by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

Year-on-year (YoY), local liquidity rose by 15% from EGP 3.76 trillion in April 2019.

Money supply increased to EGP 1.05 trillion in April from EGP 1.032 trillion in the prior month.
