Egypt’s long, medium-term loans hit $2.2bn in H1 - CBE

Cairo – Mubasher: Long- and medium-term loans and facilities in Egypt contracted by 53.19% year-on-year to $2.2 billion during the first half of fiscal year 2018/2019, versus $4.7 billion, according to data revealed by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

Total loans and facilities increased by 8.33% to $1.3 billion in H1-18/19, compared to $1.2 billion in H1-17/18, the CBE said in a statement.

The CBE noted that around $872.3 million of loans were used in H1-18/19, versus $3.5 billion in the corresponding period of the prior year.
