Cairo – Mubasher: The number of mobile phone subscribers in Egypt rose by about 360,000 or 0.377% month-on-month (MoM) to 95.7 million in January from 95.34 million.
Year-on-year (YoY), the number of subscribers increased by 2.43% or 2.27 million in the first month of 2020 from 93.43 million, a recent report by the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology showed.
In the meantime, the number of fixed-line subscribers grew to 9.1 million in January from 8.76 million in December 2019, and from 8.15 million in January 2019.
Moreover, the number of mobile internet users amounted to 42.3 million in January, compared to 39 million in December 2019 and 34.13 million in January 2019.
In addition, the number of USB Modem users in Egypt registered 3.61 million in January, compared to 3.6 million a month earlier and 3.15 million in January in the previous year.
Meanwhile, the number of ADSL subscribers reached 7.24 million in January, compared to 7.3 million a month earlier and 6.62 million in January 2019.
