Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) has received no formal requests from Egypt-based mobile operators to manage a fourth-generation (4G) mobile network in Egypt, said a first-hand source at the ministry.
"The door will remain open until the deadline is expired at 12:00pm on this Thursday. The ministry has been notified of nothing so far", the source told Mubasher in a phone call.
Earlier, some news reports revealed that the mobile phone operators do not particularly agree on the 50% dollar-collected fees.
The landline monopoly Telecom Egypt was the first company to have a 4G license at EGP 7.08 billion, of which 50% will be paid in US dollar, said MCIT spokesman on 31 August.
