Egypt’s new health insurance system to cost EGP 600bn by 2032 - MOF

Cairo – Mubasher: The total cost of putting Egypt’s new health insurance law into effect will reach EGP 600 billion by 2032, deputy minister of finance Mohamed Meait said in a press conference.

The cost of the new system will amount to EGP 9 billion during its first year of implementation, Meait added.

The Egyptian government is planning to apply the new law in Port Said during its first year of execution as of fiscal year 2018/2019, he highlighted.

On 17 December 2017, the Parliament approved a proposed bill by the government regarding the integrated health insurance law.
