Egypt's non-oil exports rise to $10.7bn in 5M

Cairo – Mubasher: The value of Egypt's non-petroleum exports amounted to $10.7 billion during the first five months of 2018.

May alone registered $2.069 billion in non-oil exports, of which $1.579 billion were non-oil non-industrial exports, while $489 million were food exports, commented general Ismail Gaber, head of the General Organization of Import and Export Control (GOIEC) on Saturday.

Egypt exported $834 million in products to Arab countries, while its exports to European Union (EU) countries amounted to $621 million, while its exports to the United States and other countries reached $413 million in May.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry previously reported a 16% increase in Egyptian non-oil exports for the first four months of the year to $8.64 billion compared to $7.43 billion in the year-ago period.
