Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian non-oil imports declined by $1.18 billion or 18% year-on-year during December 2019, head of the General Organization of Import and Export Control (GOIEC), Ismail Gaber, revealed.
The North African nation’s non-oil imports shrank to $5.292 billion last December, compared to $6.473 billion in the same month a year earlier, Gaber added in a statement on Monday.
Imports of leather products and shoes dropped by 28% year-on-year to $12 billion in December 2019, compared to $17 million, while imported agricultural crops fell by 24% to $553 million from $701 million.
Likewise, imported medical industries retreated to $256 million last December from $327 million, while imported furniture decreased to $119 million from $150 million in December 2018.
