Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation, Rania El-Mashat, announced that the parliament approved four decisions taken by the President related to agreements valued at $33.4 million signed with the US.
The approvals include an amendment to the $4.4 million agreement for agricultural and rural development to increase incomes and employment opportunities for those working in the agricultural sector in Upper Egypt, Greater Cairo, and the Nile Delta, according to a statement on Monday.
The second agreement includes the provision of $15 million to the basic education sector, while the third agreement provides $4 million to science and technology and the fourth agreement offers $10 million to the health sector by improving Egypt’s family planning and reproductive health programme.
The US current cooperation portfolio in Egypt has reached $1.861 billion pumped into 12 projects in the housing, education, health, agriculture, and tourism sectors.
