Egypt’s parliament approves EUR 122.7m funding agreements with EIB

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of international cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, announced signing three funding agreements with the European Investment Bank (EIB) to finance sanitation and transportation sectors at a combined value of EUR 122.7 million.

The three agreements, approved by the parliament on Monday, include the expansion and development of the western wastewater treatment plant in Alexandria at a value of EUR 120 million, Al-Mashat added in a statement on Tuesday.

In addition, another agreement includes the upgrade of Tanta-Mansoura-Damietta railway line with a grant wroth EUR 1.5 million.

Moreover, the third agreement covers the rehabilitation of Cairo Metro’s Line 2 with a grant worth EUR 1.2 million.
