Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian parliament approved an agreement signed with the US over an additional aid worth $6 million for the development of North Sinai, the minister of international cooperation Rania Al Mashat said.
This brings the total value of the grant agreement signed between the Egyptian government and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) under the North Sinai development programme to $56 million, Al Mashat added in a statement on Thursday.
The project will provide about 300,000 residents in North Sinai with access to drinking water and 100,000 people with sanitation services.
The aid will be used to build water desalination plants and fish farms and drill water wells.
